of late 19th and early 20th century Russian icons. Housed
in the Museum of Russian Icons in Peccioli, a small hill town
of Tuscany, the collection is unique in Italy and illustrates
a notable moment in the history of Russian icons, which bridges
the centuries-long spiritual tradition and a modern style
and approach to iconography. Catalogue available.

A symposium organized in collaboration
with the town of Peccioli, and the American Bible Society,
with the support of the Province of Pisa, in conjunction with
the exhibition Holy Russia in Tuscany, proposes to highlight
and analyze the infrastructure of the Italian small town as
one of the great virtuous characteristics of Italy.
Giovanni De Bardi (1534-1614) wrote: “A City is a union
of a number of houses and quarters situated in one place in
order that men may live well and justly.” The afternoon
symposium was followed by a Tuscan dinner at San Domenico
restaurant featuring a typical menu and wines from Peccioli
to benefit ICFA.
